Testing for Sales
STEPS FOR TESTING FOR SALES
1. Check the current battery is suitable for the vehicle of which
it is  tted to, use the Quinton Hazell catalogue if you are unsure.
2. Remove the surface charge by leaving the headlamps on for 30 seconds and leave the battery to stand for 5 minutes.
QUESTIONS, TESTING FOR SALES
1. Is the car vital to you?
2. Is it regularly maintained?
3. Is it kept outdoors?
4. Is it your second car, or partners car? 5. Is it used for short distance journeys?
All of the questions above will help you with the sale of the battery once tested, and also help to sell up more easily to a higher performance battery.
DIGITAL TESTER
By simply taking a few minutes to go through the steps below, digital testing is a quick and easy way to generate sales opportunities.
Step 1 – Application
Select the type of battery you are testing.
e.g. Automotive
Step 2 – Battery Type
Enter the type of battery being tested.
e.g. Regular Flooded
Step 3 – Standard
Choose the appropriate rating standard to match what is speci ed on the label. e.g. SAE
Step 4 – Rating
Enter the CCA from the label spec.
e.g. 570
Step 5 – Results
The results of the battery test will then be shown on screen. From here, you can print out the results to give to the customer.
If you test every battery on every vehicle your sales volume will increase by around 20%.
SHORTFALLS OF DIGITAL TESTERS
OK for testing for sales, but not designed to verify warranties. This is because it cannot structurally analyse the reasons why a battery has failed, it cannot determine whether it is a manufacturing fault of if it has suffered from service abuse.
